Cursor Pricing in 2026: New Plans, What Happened to Pro, and the Real Cost

Cursor now comes inside The X Subscription, from $8 to $200 a month. See the new plans, what changed for Pro users, and what Claude or GPT now costs in Cursor.
Cursor's pricing changed on 12 October 2026. New customers can no longer buy the old standalone Cursor plans. Cursor is now sold as part of The X Subscription, which bundles it with Grok and X Premium: Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200 a month, plus a free tier, as listed on Cursor's pricing page on 19 October 2026.
The biggest change is for people who code with Claude, GPT or Gemini inside Cursor. Those models now start at the $30 Premium tier and are billed separately at API list prices from the first request. The monthly fee only covers Grok models.
Cursor plans and prices (October 2026)
| Plan | Price per month | Usage compared with Plus | Third-party models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited | No |
| Plus | $8 | Base allowance | No, Grok models only |
| Premium | $30 | 4× | Yes, billed separately at API list price |
| Super | $100 | 15× | Yes, billed separately at API list price |
| Ultra | $200 | 50× | Yes, billed separately at API list price |
| Teams | From $30 per user | 4× to 50× by seat type | Yes, billed separately |
Prices exclude tax. The included allowance is one shared pool for Grok models across Cursor, Grok and Grok Bot, and it refreshes weekly. Every paid tier also includes X Premium features such as the checkmark and fewer ads.
What each tier adds for coding
- Plus ($8): Cursor's agent and chat with Grok models only, and Grok API access.
- Premium ($30): four times Plus's usage, cloud agents and automations, code hosting, AI code reviews, and the option to use third-party models at API list price.
- Super ($100): fifteen times Plus's usage and priority access at peak times.
- Ultra ($200): fifty times Plus's usage and the earliest access to new products and models.

What happened to Cursor Pro?
Under the old pricing, Cursor Pro cost $20 a month and included $20 of third-party model usage at API prices. Pro+ cost $60 and included $70, and Ultra cost $200 and included $400 of usage.
If you already pay for one of those plans, nothing changes yet. Existing plans keep their price, features and included usage until you choose to switch. Cursor has said remaining customers will eventually be moved, with advance notice, but it has given no date. A switch option with a prorated refund is rolling out in account billing settings.
Worked example: a Claude user's bill, before and after
Take a developer who spends about $20 a month on Claude models inside Cursor.
| Setup | Plan fee | Claude usage | Total per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Old Cursor Pro | $20 | Included up to $20 | $20 |
| New Premium | $30 | $20 at API list price | $50 |
| New Plus | $8 | Not available | $8, but Grok models only |
For this developer the new pricing costs $30 more a month, or $360 a year, unless they move to Grok models. If you are on an old plan and use Claude or GPT heavily, there is no reason to switch early. If you are happy with Grok, Plus at $8 is cheaper than any previous Cursor plan.
Alternatives if you mainly want Claude for coding
If Claude is the model you rely on, paying Anthropic directly may now cost less. Claude Pro costs $20 a month and includes Claude Code, Anthropic's own coding agent, with usage shared with your chats. Our Claude Pro price guide covers the plans, and when the $100 Max plan is worth it.

How to choose a Cursor plan
| If you | Consider |
|---|---|
| Want to try Cursor's editor and agent | Free |
| Are fine with Grok models and code a few hours a week | Plus, $8 |
| Need Claude or GPT, cloud agents or code reviews | Premium, $30, plus your model spend |
| Code with Grok most of the day | Super or Ultra |
| Are on an old Pro, Pro+ or Ultra plan and use Claude or GPT | Stay on your current plan for now |
Set a spending cap before turning on third-party models. Because they are billed from the first request at API rates, a long agent session on a large model can cost more than the plan fee itself.
Cancelling and billing
Cursor lists its prices per month. The pricing page says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Third-party model usage is paid through prepaid top-ups, separate from the plan fee.
Cursor pricing questions
How much is Cursor per month now?
$8 for Plus, $30 for Premium, $100 for Super and $200 for Ultra, before tax. There is also a free tier with limited usage.
Can I still buy Cursor Pro for $20?
Not as a new customer. Existing Pro subscribers can keep their plan for now.
Does Cursor still include Claude?
Claude is available from the Premium tier up, but its usage is billed separately at API list prices instead of being included in the plan fee.
Why does my Cursor plan include X Premium?
Since October 2026, Cursor is sold inside The X Subscription, which bundles Cursor, Grok and X Premium features into one plan.
Is the $8 Plus plan enough for coding?
For light use with Grok models, yes. It does not include third-party models, cloud agents or code reviews.
