YouTube TV costs $82.99 a month for the Base Plan, or from $54.99 for genre plans. Compare plans, add-ons, streams and devices, and how to pause or cancel.

YouTube TV costs $82.99 a month for its main Base Plan, about 138 channels including your local stations, ESPN and the big news networks. Since February 2026 there are also smaller genre plans, from $54.99 a month for Entertainment to $71.99 for Sports + News. Prices were checked on 31 October 2026 and are before tax.

One subscription covers up to six people in the same household, with three streams at once. Below are the plans, the add-ons, why the price is so high, and how to pause or cancel.

YouTube TV plans and prices (October 2026)

PlanMonthly priceWhat it focuses on
Base Plan$82.99The full lineup of about 138 channels: locals, sports, news, entertainment and kids
Sports + News$71.99Local broadcasters, ESPN networks, FS1 and national news channels such as CNN, Fox News and CNBC
News + Entertainment + Family$69.99News and entertainment networks plus family channels such as Disney Channel and Nickelodeon
Sports$64.99About 35 channels: local broadcasters, all ESPN networks and FS1
Entertainment$54.99Local broadcasters plus networks such as Bravo, Comedy Central, Food Network and HGTV
Spanish Plan$34.99Spanish-language channels

Every plan includes unlimited DVR and sharing with up to six household members. When the genre plans launched, new members got a lower introductory price, for example $54.99 a month for a year on the Sports plan. Check the checkout for the current offer, because these change often. Our subscription price tracker follows the Base Plan price, so you can see when it changes.

Add-ons that change the total

  • 4K Plus, $9.99 a month: 4K on supported channels, offline DVR downloads and unlimited streams on your home network.
  • Sports Plus, $10.99 a month: extra sports networks, including NFL RedZone.
  • Premium channels: HBO Max, Paramount+ with Showtime, Starz and others can be added at their own prices.
  • NFL Sunday Ticket: sold separately each season; the price depends on whether you are a new or returning buyer and on the offer at the time.

A Base Plan with 4K Plus already costs $92.98 a month, or about $1,116 a year, so add-ons are worth reviewing before every renewal.

How YouTube TV's price has risen

YearBase Plan per month
2017 (launch)$35
2019$49.99
2020$64.99
March 2023$72.99
December 2024 / January 2025$82.99

The last rise was announced in December 2024: new members paid $82.99 from 12 December 2024, and most existing members from their billing date on or after 13 January 2025. The Base Plan has not changed since, and the genre plans added in 2026 are the first lower-priced English-language options.

Why is YouTube TV so expensive?

Most of the price goes to the channels. Live TV services pay networks a fee for each channel and each subscriber, and local broadcast stations and sports networks such as ESPN are among the most expensive to carry. When YouTube raised the price to $82.99, it said the change was "to keep up with rising content costs".

That is also why the genre plans cost less: a Sports plan without the entertainment and news networks has fewer channel fees to cover. If you mainly watch one kind of TV, a genre plan can save $11 to $28 a month compared with the Base Plan.

How many devices and people can use YouTube TV?

  • Accounts: up to six, the family manager plus five household members, each with their own login, recommendations and DVR library.
  • Streams at once: three at the same time across the whole membership. 4K Plus removes the limit on your home network.
  • Devices: you can sign in on as many supported devices as you like, including smart TVs, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, game consoles, phones and browsers. The limit is how many streams play at once, not how many devices are signed in.
  • Home area: everyone shares one home location. You can watch while travelling in the US, but you need to sign in from home regularly, and local channels follow the area you are in.

YouTube TV only works in the United States.

Ways to pay less for YouTube TV

  • Pick a genre plan if you don't use most of the 138 channels. The Entertainment plan costs $336 a year less than the Base Plan.
  • Pause instead of paying through the off-season. You can pause for between 4 weeks and 6 months, for example between the end of football and the start of the next season.
  • Look for introductory offers for new members and check whether your internet or phone provider gives a YouTube TV discount.
  • Drop add-ons you don't use, especially 4K Plus if your TVs or internet can't use it.
  • Compare with on-demand services. If you rarely watch anything live, two or three on-demand subscriptions usually cost less. Our streaming deals overview shows how to build a cheaper mix.

Is there a YouTube TV free trial?

New members are usually offered a free trial; when the genre plans launched it was 10 days, but the length changes with each offer. The trial turns into a paid membership automatically at the price shown at signup, so note the end date if you are only testing it.

How to cancel or pause YouTube TV

  1. Go to tv.youtube.com in a browser, or open the YouTube TV app, and select your profile picture.
  2. Choose Settings, then Membership.
  3. To cancel, select Manage, then Cancel membership and confirm. To pause instead, use the slider to choose a length and select Pause.

You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, add-ons stop and recordings in your library expire after 21 days, so resubscribe within three weeks if you want to keep them. A pause starts when your current billing period ends. If you signed up through another company, such as Apple or an internet provider, you may need to cancel with them instead. For a wider clear-out, our subscription audit guide shows how to find every service you pay for.

YouTube TV vs YouTube Premium

They are separate subscriptions. YouTube TV is live cable-style TV. YouTube Premium, at $15.99 a month, removes ads from YouTube videos and includes YouTube Music Premium, but has no live TV channels. Neither includes the other; see our YouTube Premium price guide for its plans.
